Neurotoxin injections (also known as Dysport, Botox, Juveue, Xeomin) are used to treat wrinkles or fine lines of the face such as: ● Forehead wrinkles ● Outer corners of the eyes (crows feet) ● Wrinkles around the mouth (smokers lines) ● Upper lip injections - flip your upper lip outward giving a plumper appearance - smooths upper lip wrinkles (smokers lines) - pulls upper lip down and filling in looks of a “gummy smile” ● Lines between the eyes (bunny lines or “11’s”) Pre & Post Care Instructions ● Avoid heavy lifting, straining, vigorous activities, tight headbands, or tight hats the day of injection ● Avoid rubbing or touching injection site for several hours ● Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, or Vitamin E, or other anti inflammatory medications for several days prior to injections as these can cause bruising ● Bruising is not uncommon and last for several days ● A mild headache can occur and can be treated with Tylenol ● You can expect to see results in average of 3-5 days ● Additional injections may be needed. A two week follow up appointment is suggested if further correction is needed. Additional units will need to be purchased. ● Results from the injections can last 3-5 months ● Repeat injections may help results to last longer ● Upper lip injections can result in numbness that may last up to 2 weeks ● Infections are extremely rare. Signs of infection include redness, swelling, and pain at the injection site. ● Avoid alcohol the day of injections ● Please call the spa with any concerns or questions
